Current Projects
The Energy Innovations Small Grant (EISG) Program
We are currently studying the exchange rate of the thermal induction zone in a variety of conditions, including naturally-formed hot water aquifers, enhanced geothermal systems and deep earth heat canals. Our aim is to prove the long-term sustainability of geothermal power generation in settings previously not considered viable.
Another project currently under way here at Earthworm Tunneling has to do with the Hot Rocks Power Cooperative. Together, we are working hard to promote a more widespread understanding of, and interest in, geothermal power. Geothermal is a natural, renewable energy source that can be very cost-efficient once it has been tapped. It is already used by many individuals and businesses throughout the United States and the world, but we hope to boost its use up and over today's more common fossil fuels.
Fossil fuels are harmful to the environment, expensive, and in limited supply. In contrast, geothermal energy does not emit negative elements into our air, it has a seventy percent output ratio (making it a low financial expenditure for a high energy result), and once accessed, it never ceases to generate power.
Our goals in this project are to facilitate the construction of a large-scale geothermal power plant
and to promote the use of geothermal energy in general.
We propose to accomplish these by:
- Educating the public about geothermal energy, Earthworm Tunneling, and the Hot Rocks Power Cooperative by presenting useful information and links on our website
- Providing an online forum for discussion about geothermal energy and relevant topics
- Offering quotes for installing residential and industrial geothermal systems
- Continually developing and advancing related technology, such as drilling machinery
- Soliciting government and private party funding to aid in our efforts
We are also seeking other industry partners who might be interested in working together with us in the fields of drilling, tunneling, and geothermal energy.
We are currently working with Positronic Design, a graphic design and website design and hosting company based in western Massachusetts, to further develop our official company website.
